If my GCSE grades are unbalanced, and my GSE (A Level) grades are excellent, can I get into universities?

If I received As and Bs for everything, with one or two Cs in subjects that I don't give a damn about, and I received A+ (A*) grades in all four of my A Levels, could I get into university? Or are GCSEs too important (overall)? If so, would retaking the entirety of Year 11 affect my entry into any Sixth Form or university (as long as I get all great grades)? Or is there some way to resubmit coursework during the summer, or something. Any help you can offer?
