What do you think about moist and meaty?

I have a brittney that's almost 5 months old and he is eating purina puppy chow would it be a good idea to add soft food to it once in awhile. I gave him a packet of Natural Choice(for puppies) a couple of times mixed with his kibble and he loved it. Is moist and meaty a good idea to mix with his food now and then I just sort of think his diet needs to have more varity. He basically gets dry kibble, dog biscuits, liver treats, rawhide and pig ears. Is he getting enough of a diet or do I need to add something to it?? I just want to make sure all of his nutritional needs are met.
