Can a 90-92 olds toronado handle a supercharged GTP motor?

im hoping to put a supercharged 3.8 (out of a pontiac grand prix gtp) in place of the stock 3.8 in the toronado-can the auto trans handle it? i figure considering the toronado only weighs like 2500lbs if one were to install a supercharged 3.8 with 240+ hp-youd be looking at a pretty nice combination.
