DLA and working?

I have recently got a job I start next week. I get DLA for one of my kids, I was told that DLA will stop once I start work. But I know a woman who has 2 special needs kids and gets DLA for both and she works full-time. (she's a single parent like me) At the job centre one person told me I would no longer get it for my son and another said I will still get it. The DLA is not for me its for my son. So my question...Does anyone know whether I will still get the DLA for my son, or does it stop. thank you people
