How can the bible be read literally when it is full of euphemisms?

So when it says "It is an abomination when a man lies with another man as if with a woman". Lie just means posed horizontally. Many married couples lie in bed asleep much more than they do in ual relations. So surely with a literal interpretation means if two men lying asleep in the same bed they are also guilty of this abomination as well?
