How soon after neutering will a male cat show signs of reduced mounting, yowling behaviour????r=1228058096?

I have just acquired an 8 month old intact male cat, he's adorable except when he gets a whiff of my neutered female cat (they are kept separate until he gets "done" tomorrow) I am just wondering how soon after neutering will he stop showing so much interest in her?
